This week’s Call to Action email is a mixed bag of celebratory news and tragic remembering of a beloved friend and colleague.
As we’re sure you all know by now, Election night brought a fabulous Blue Tsunami here in Bucks County, in Pennsylvania and in the entire nation. Bucks County showed up and contributed to an historic flipping of the US House by de-throning Brian Fitzpatrick and electing Bob Harvie as our next Representative in the US House. Huzzah!!! We also earned a majority in the PA Senate for the first time in over a decade. For the first time in 48 years, Democrats flipped the Pennsylvania state Senate, achieving their elusive “trifecta” of control of the executive and both chambers of the legislature.
Democrats now have control of both the PA House and Senate as well as a Democratic Governor, a trifecta that will protect the rights and pocketbooks of Pennsylvanians! And needless to say, the Nation voted to flip both the House, which was expected and the Senate, which was not at all certain. Huzzah again! We elected so many fabulous and diverse people to governors' mansions across the country. We are happy to celebrate these victories and take a moment to breathe after a long election season.
