DAL Has Joined Indivisible!
The Doylestown Action League is excited to announce that we are now part of Indivisible!! By joining Indivisible, we are part of a bigger movement to protect and progress our Democracy. We will also have access to more platforms, such as Mobilize (to help us register people for events) and ActBlue (to take donations). Stay tuned as we roll out these new benefits!
Many people are feeling like there is nothing they can do to stop the flow of corruption, economic disaster, ethnic cleansing and degradation of our constitution that is going on in our country. Please watch this short video from Jess Craven, who gives us inspiration to keep going and do something (warning, f-bomb alert). Together we can knit back together the tattered fabric of our Democracy!
No matter how you’re registered, protecting voting rights is essential right now. Many of us at DAL are working with the PA Dems as we head into election season. It’s a great way to support candidates who align with many things that we want to protect. From now until November 3rd, almost all of our actions need to focus on 1.) Winning every seat we can, both statewide and federal seats. We especially need all hands on deck to flip the US House blue. This means doing everything we can to help Bob Harvie get elected. 2.) Protecting folks who are getting especially hurt by this administration. Here are ways that you can get involved.

Four Ways to Defend Democracy Now
The Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration can cancel Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians and Syrians. Call Senators Fetterman and McCormick to demand passage of bill S 4814, which would extend TPS for all Haitians. Also, send a “Thank You” to Governor Shapiro for protecting voting rights and help get out the vote this November by writing letters to young and underserved voters.
It's Time to Support Local Immigrants and LGBTQ+ folks!
There are two communities that are dealing with intense attacks from the current administration.
Many of us may have been paying attention to what’s happening at DILLY DETENTION CENTER & DELANEY HALL. Although we may not be seeing it, ICE has been increasing activity HERE in Bucks County. People are being detained at a much higher rate, both in the community and even in our courts. Several local organizations that were serving the immigrant community have recently shut down.
We may have also been paying attention to the physical, emotional & legal attacks on, specifically, TRANS PEOPLE. The DOJ is trying to get personal information from gender clinics across the state. Basic gender-affirming care is being halted. And funding for support is being stripped.

Say no to corporate interference in PA elections and data centers in our communities. Support peer-reviewed research grants and equitable funding in our National Parks. Speak Out Against Abuse in ICE Detention Centers
Hunger Strikes Signal a Human Rights Crisis
This week, all eyes are on Delaney Hall in Newark and every other Detention Center (Concentration camp) in the country as hunger and labor strikes start or continue. Read more here: Immigrants’ rights are being flagrantly violated at these centers. Detainees are suffering Inhumane conditions, lack of due process and abuse.
